In Nederland is het soms al huilen met de pet op met het huidige cannabisbeleid, helemaal als thuiskweker. Maar bij de buren in België loopt de cannabisklok nog veel verder achter. En daar moeten we hoogdringend eens tegen in actie komen, dachten Fabrice en twee medestanders. Met hun The Cannabis Collective Belgium willen ze gaan strijden voor de legalisering van cannabis. En ze roepen alle Belgische CNNBS-lezers – een dikke twintig procent van onze bezoekers komt ervandaan – op om lid te worden en mee te vechten!

Al eerder, in 2021 pakte Fabrice het activistische voortouw op om in zijn vaderland een eerlijker cannabisbeleid na te streven. Wegens gezondheidsproblemen moest hij daar toen, ondanks “enorme reactie”, mee stoppen. Gelukkig zijn gezondheid en strijdlust nu weer volop terug.

“Momenteel ben ik samen met twee andere gemotiveerde mensen bezig om de actiegroep nieuw leven in te blazen, en we zijn op zoek naar nog meer mensen die zich willen aansluiten. Gezien het succes van mijn vorige oproep op jullie platform, wil ik graag opnieuw via CNNBS een oproepingsbrief publiceren”, mailde Fabrice ons deze week.

Vanzelfsprekend doen wij dat met alle broederliefde. Hieronder volgt de integrale oproep van The Cannabis Collective Belgium. Zoals de naam al verraadt, is de voertaal van de Belgische pro-wiet actiegroep Engels en dus geldt dat ook voor onderstaande oproep.

Dear Fellow Citizens,

It is time for change! We, the Cannabis Collective Belgium, are convinced that the legalization and regulation of cannabis is the only logical and just step toward a progressive and safe society.

However, we cannot do this alone. We need your support to build a strong movement that raises awareness and puts pressure on our policymakers!

Why should cannabis be legalized and regulated?

1. Public Health: Regulated sales guarantee controlled and safe quality cannabis.
2. Economy: Legalization creates jobs and generates tax revenue that can be used for healthcare and education.
3. Crime Reduction: By eliminating the black market, we reduce the crime associated with illegal trade.
4. Police Capacity: The police can focus on serious crimes instead of minor drug offenses.
5. Freedom of Choice: Adults should be able to decide for themselves about their own bodies and health.
6. Medical Benefits: Cannabis offers relief for various medical conditions such as chronic pain and epilepsy.
7. Reduction of Stigma: Legalization helps break the negative stigma surrounding cannabis use.
8. Environmental Benefits: Through regulation, we can promote sustainable production and limit the ecological impact of illegal cultivation.
9. Harm Reduction: Rules regarding sales and education can promote responsible use.
10. International Trend: Many countries such as Canada, parts of the U.S., and Luxembourg have already taken steps. Belgium must not fall behind!

Our Mission

We aim to raise awareness about the benefits of cannabis legalization, actively lobby the government to achieve policy reforms, and build broad support through actions such as petitions, protests, events, and information campaigns.
